Sake exports to the U.S. have doubled in volume and quadrupled in value since 2001. In 2010, Japan had a record year for sake exports, and the U.S. was its most important market. Sake may still be a niche beverage but consumption is ever increasing and presents an excellent opportunity for wine stores, restaurants and others upon which to capitalize.  But to do so, you need to understand sake as well as be able to educate your customers.  I can assist you in such matters. 

I have been involved in food and wine writing for over seven years, currently writing a food, wine, sake and spirits blog, The Passionate Foodie, as well as a regular food & wine column for the Stoneham Sun newspaper.  My work has also been published in other periodicals including the Boston Scene magazine, North End Scene magazine, and the Valley Patriot newspaper.   

In addition, I am a Certified Sake Professional, awarded by the esteemed sake expert John Gauntner and the Sake Education Council.  There are less than 500 people worldwide with this designation.  On my blog, I have written over 250 sake-related posts, including educational material and reviews.
